È in uscita il 25 aprile, su etichetta InsideOut Music, l’album di debutto del nuovo supergruppo statunitense Cosmic Cathedral, intitolato Deep Water.
Ideatore del nuovo progetto musicale è, ancora una volta, il compositore e polistrumentista californiano Neal Morse, l’artista in assoluto più prolifico dell’ultimo trentennio. I numerosi progetti che recano la sua firma – dagli Spock’s Beard ai Transatlantic, dai Flying Colors alla Neal Morse Band, dal trio D’Virgilio/Morse/Jennings all’ultima collaborazione con i The Resonance – hanno costellato di autentiche gemme l’affollato pianeta progressive.
In questa nuova avventura, Morse è affiancato da professionisti di lunga data e di grosso calibro: il batterista Chester Thompson (Frank Zappa, Genesis), il chitarrista Phil Keaggy (Glass Harp) e il bassista Byron House (session man, tra gli altri, di Robert Plant e Dolly Parton).
Tutta la soddisfazione professionale e personale circa la riuscita del progetto traspare in maniera evidente dalle dichiarazioni dei musicisti.
Inizia Neal Morse: “These guys are real groovers: even if they’re playing proggy stuff, it has more of a Steely Dan feel to it, but when Phil and I start singing it sounds like The Beatles!”.
Prosegue Phil Keaggy: “The album is a musical feast – full of creative imagination and heartfelt lyrics. In my opinion, this recording is one of the highlights of my musical career!”.
Conclude Chester Thompson: “I am super excited for people to hear this album. There was great communication between all the players. One of my favorite projects I’ve ever been a part of!”.
